THE BRIEF
Light and Space artist Hap Tivey was debuting his Helios series at ArtLife Gallery in Miami on the heels of Art Basel. The gallery needed a film that could translate a 50-year investigation into light and perception for a new generation of collectors.
WHAT WE DID
We made a five-minute documentary portrait built around Tivey's voice and presence. The film weaves 1970s archival footage of Tivey alongside James Turrell into high-resolution footage of the Helios installations. The pacing holds on shifting light and quiet reflection long enough for the viewer to experience the perceptual phenomenon rather than just hear about it.
RESULT
Premiered at ArtLife Gallery alongside the Helios exhibition launch. The film helped position the show for a new collector audience and the exhibition resulted in a purchase by Kris Jenner, generating press coverage in Homes & Gardens.
